Angel Tree

This Christmas, you can help make the holiday special for families in our neighborhood. St. Luke's has invited 70 Washington Township families and 25 Dove Recovery House mothers to shop at our Angel Tree store on December 17, where they can choose gifts for their children at no cost, and even receive a surprise gift themselves! Angel Tree is also providing gifts for 125 homeless youth at the Outreach, Inc. Christmas party.

You can get involved by donating gift items (drop off at church by December 11), helping to sort gifts and set up the Angel Tree store (December 11 and 16), and/or helping families shop or wrap gifts (December 17). Financial donations are also needed to provide all needed items.

Our biggest remaining need is gifts for teenaged students, who will receive a $25 Wal-Mart gift card and a portable phone charger. You can sign up to donate these items or make a financial donation to cover their cost.

Longest Night

DECEMBER 18 @ 4PM

Navigating the Christmas season during a time of grief or loneliness can be hard. Join us for a service of hope. This service symbolizes a move out of the darkness and is for anyone who has had a loss of any kind at any time in their life. Grief is a journey, that no one can put an end date on for another person. Let us be a part of your journey, your journey of hope into lightness. This service will be in-person as well as streamed online here.

Other Special Christmas Happenings

Tuesday, December 13 at 7PM | North Indy Robertson Chapel & Online

Come celebrate the season at the JoySwing Christmas Classics Concert, a jazzy musical tribute to Jesus. The JoySwing Jazz Orchestra will provide a lively setting for praising the coming of the savior. The concert is FREE concert, but an offering in support of St. Luke's charitable partners, Crooked Creek Food Pantry and Luke's Leaders) will be taken. The concert is presented as an in-person event and will be live-streamed.

December 31 at 5PM at the Labyrinth/N101-102

Usher in the New Year with a time of remembering 2022 and looking forward to 2023. Perhaps choose a word for 2023 and contemplate how that word will be evidenced in your life as you walk. If you have never walked a labyrinth, someone will be present to introduce you to the practice.  No need to register, just show up!

Every Sunday in December from 10:30-11AM | North Indy - W120

This Advent, we invite you to make room for silence on Sunday morning, so that our hearts may be opened for the birthing of Christ within. Come into the Sunday Morning Quiet Room, Room W120, from 10:30 to 11AM to pause for silence for a few minutes or for a half hour. Communion elements will also be available to you in this sacred space. There is no need to register, just show up!

Monday, December 19 from 5:30-6PM | North Indy - N103/104 & Zoom

Taize worship is for those who are looking for a peaceful, quiet service in the midst of a busy, noisy holiday season. Come for a half hour of chants, scripture, prayer, silence, and lighting of candles. We do ask that you register in advance here.
