Plan A Visit

Open. We mean it.

No matter who you are or what your story is, we welcome you with unconditional love - exactly how Jesus does. Because of this, expect to see diversity at St. Luke's - in age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and life experience. We place a high value on diversity. We offer two styles of worship and a variety of ways to connect at St. Luke's. We look forward to worshipping with you!

CHURCH TOURS

Did you know that St. Luke’s has a small prayer chapel off Robertson Chapel? Have you wondered about the meaning of the various stained-glass windows throughout the building? Are you curious about the building in the corner of the parking lot called Luke’s Lodge? Whether you’re new to St. Luke’s or you’ve been coming for a while, join with others to explore our facilities and learn a bit of our history as well. Tour guides: Susan and Roger Frick. If you require childcare, please call Debra Peek 317-846-3404 x 364 at least two weeks in advance.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

If you are planning a visit to St. Luke's, feel free to call ahead: 317-846-3404 x308 and arrange for a member of our Guest Experience team to meet you, answer any questions you might have, or if you like, even attend service with you.

Do you have questions before you even walk in our door for the first time? Take a look at some of our answers below.

The main parking lot can be easily accessed off of 86th Street. There is a special parking area for guests at St. Luke's (please turn on your flashers and you will be directed to the guest parking). Additionally, there is also a handicapped parking lot. If you happen to have to park far from the church entries, look out for a golf cart to give you door to door service!

If you'll be attending Traditional Worship, we suggest entering through Door 1, and for Contemporary Worship enter through Doors 6 or 7. If you're parking in the handicap lot, Door 4 is the easiest entry point. For families with young children, we suggest entering through Door 16 to check-in for Kids Church.

Our Kids' Ministry partners with parents to raise children who trust God with their hearts, and follow Jesus with their lives. When you arrive at church, you'll go to Door 16 to get your kids checked into services. From there, you'll take your infant-PreK kids directly to their rooms and K-4th graders will go to "big church" with their parents for the first 10 minutes and then be lead, by volunteers, into Great Hall for a lesson, worship, and crafts. Make things even easier by pre-registering your family before you come so we have all your info!

Student Ministries (5th through 12th grades) will continue their in-person programming to coincide with in-person worship services. Contact Heather Kenison with questions. Make things even easier by pre-registering your family before you come so we have all your info!

Attending a small group, class, or Bible study is the first step to making a large church smaller. A great way to grow in your relationship with Jesus is to have intentional relationships with people who have the same goal. A small group is an ideal place for cultivating these relationships! Click here if you’re interested in receiving more information on attending a small group. If you have more questions, you can stop at the Connection Center outside of the worship space.

Yes! The Special Needs Ministry is designed to meet the unique needs of EVERY person from birth to adulthood. We focus on their abilities, rather than disabilities. Every person is uniquely designed by God and it is our goal to help them understand God’s purpose and plan for their lives. Click here to email our Director of Special Needs Ministry, Crystal for more information and to give us a little bit more information about your child/adult needs.

On Sunday mornings, stop by one of our Connection Centers, either outside of the Sanctuary (near door #1 as you enter) or outside of Robertson Chapel to get all of your questions answered about where to go and who we are. During the week, enter door #6 and you will be near our main office, open Monday – Friday, from 8:30AM – 5PM. Someone will be happy to help you find what you need..

At St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, we are an open community of Christians helping people find and give hope through Jesus Christ - regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, nationality, disability, or socioeconomic background. We work to ensure that our congregation and its leadership represent the community in which we are located. We are dedicated to including women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ as staff and in positions of leadership and decision-making.

We renounce the way religion has been used throughout history to support racism, war, discrimination, genocide, violence, and poverty, and we pledge to rid ourselves of the conscious and unconscious biases when sacred stories are used to uphold injustice. We are particularly sensitive to the issues facing our brothers and sisters of color and LGBTQ+ individuals, both within the United Methodist Church and in the general society. We pledge to be leaders in eradicating racism and discrimination. You are invited to join us.

As John Wesley said, “Though we cannot think alike, may we not love alike? May we not be of one heart, though we are not of one opinion? Without all doubt, we may. Herein all the children of God may unite, notwithstanding these smaller differences.”

If you are visiting, we won't ask you to give a dime. We won't make you wear a visitor badge or ask you to stand up or do anything that could make you feel uncomfortable. We want you to remain as anonymous as you want to, but we encourage you to visit our church over several weeks to see what's going on at St. Luke's. Our sign-in process is all digital and we'd love to have your contact information so that we can follow-up with you after your visit via text.
