UMCOR Sunday

The United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR) comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters--famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events--to alleviate suffering and serve as a source of help and hope for the vulnerable. UMCOR provides relief, response and long-term recovery grants when events overwhelm a community's ability to recover on their own. One time each year, on UMCOR Sunday, Methodist churches everywhere take up a special offering. These donations cover UMCOR's operation costs so that 100% of donations received in response to emergency appeals go directly to communities in need.

Over the past couple of years, St. Luke's people have generously donated to UMCOR relief efforts in Ukraine, Syria and Turkey, Maui, Florida, North Carolina, California, and Tennessee. Now we have the opportunity to give generously so that UMCOR will continue to use 100% of additional funds for specific programs like U.S. disaster response, international disaster response, and global migration.
