Do you wonder what keeps that large group of people who sit at the front of the sanctuary motivated week after week? Consider joining St. Luke’s Chancel Choir this fall. Singers of a variety of skill levels are welcome—we have a seat and music folder for each of you! You’ll find yourself in a group of dedicated, passionate musicians and a community committed to mission and fellowship.

Make a Joyful Sound!
If you are a singer (or would like to renew your interest in singing), but can't quite make the commitment to the rigorous schedule of the Chancel Choir, Joyful Sound may be just the thing for you! We are a small group (25) of energetic people who sing twice each month (second and fourth Sundays) at St. Luke's 8:15AM service. We also perform for several music outreach events each year, and gather for fellowship on special occasions. Our director is St. Luke's organist Charles Manning. We meet each Thursday to rehearse for one hour, at 6:30PM, September through May. No audition required—just a willingness to share your talent and have fun. Contact Charles at manningc@stlukesumc.com or 846-3404 if you would like more information. We welcome you to check us out at 6:30PM on Thursday, September 11, upstairs in E208. See you then!

St. Luke's Orchestra First Rusty Musician Sunday
Have you been sitting in the pew listening to the St. Luke's Orchestra and saying to yourself, “I wish I could play with that orchestra, but it’s been years since I played my instrument . . . not since high school . . .” Now is the time to dust off the instrument, (the one that has been in your basement for the past 20 years), work on your technique and join the Orchestra for a special Rusty Musician day on Thanksgiving Sunday, November 23. We promise to give you the music early,
pair you up with a regular player and find extra rehearsal time so you can be part of the thrilling Sunday morning experience.
If you have questions or want to let us know that
you want to be part of this special Sunday, send an email to Bob Zehr at rdzehr@oakhillmansion.com.
Save the Date!
World-renowned singer Wintley Phipps will be featured at Sanctuary worship services on Sunday, November 23, and
present an inspiring concert that afternoon at 4PM. Phipps

the Crystal Cathedral, and his singing of “Amazing Grace”
has been extremely popular on YouTube. The concert is free
and open to the public; an offering will be received to support
Phipps’ ministry The US Dream Academy.
